I did this tarot reading for Wookie last Friday. I had to give a demonstrative speech for my Com 101 class and the only thing I could think to demonstrate was a Tarot reading. Wookie was gracious enough to be my guinea pig... not that it was much of an experiment seeing as I've been doing this for 10 years now. However, I thought I would post the reading up here.. who knows... maybe in a year I'll be able to finally look at a complete reading and see where I was right and where I was wrong. Yay for documentation.

1st Significator - Page of Rods

A young man plodding through his existance. On a journey... bright piercing blue eyes. Uses his authority as a tool to be weilded. Searching for elusive information that was in his hand the whole time.

2nd Significator - The High Priestess

A wise young woman - a woman who understands transformation (The butterfly nearby). A black cat is a familiar spirit (Nightshade). Balance is sought as evidenced by the black and white crescent moons. Gentle natured. Snake suggests that not all things that look bad necessarily are.

Obstacle - Ten of Rods

He has a tendancy to supress his more fiery nature by immersing himself in work and meaningless details. He comes across as a lot older than he really is. He doesn't take time to appreciate life and it's beauty or intricate simplicity. Supports more weight than he has to.

Support - Eight of Pentacles

A caring, hardworking young man (Ogre). Very Earthy, very crafty. Large, tall and tends towards hairyness. Very kind-hearted, funny and a bit bumbling at times. Loyal and supportive.

Aspiration - Seven of Pentacles

He wants to feel like he can relax after finishing his work. He wants to be able to admire his progress. Reveals looking forward to a vacation and a desire to enjoy life more.

Past - Two of Cauldrons

Betrayed by a false love that left him broken and devastated. There was an issue involving pregnancy and deceptions. She was a hesitant love, while he was completely loyal and devoted. There were issues with infidelity. Because this is the past, it suggests that there is a need to move on from this situation as it has continued to haunt and rule his life. Suggestions of ties to other problems in his life all stemming from this one source. Could do with a deeper study of this issue in another reading.

Future - King of Pentacles

He has all he needs to be happy around him. He just needs to identify those things. Also, he needs to let go of his past as he clings to it now, afraid to make the dynamic changes necessary because an inability to sever his ties with his past. One thing missing is an ability to stop and marvel at the beauty and wonder of the world around him. He has tendancies towards obliviousness and as such has managed to miss out on some of the things he was looking for. Needs to learn to take more risks, let go of his past as well as his fears of loss and betrayal and appreciate the joy in his surroundings... joy in the air.

Hopes, Dreams, and Fears 1 - Eight of Rods

He is looking for the magical in the mundane... looking to fall in love again as a way to move on from the past, as a way to heal. He seeks a woman who can transform his ordinary life. However, elements from his future card warn he may not find his magical lady if he doesn't learn how to take a risk on new love. (Crows in the air match air symbology in golden starry crown in future card). He wants to be lifted out of his current situation and find himself in a better one... one where he is happy and loved and able to love in return.

HDF 2 - Five of Cauldrons

He is afraid of being a cold, distant father. This may have something to do with situations surrounding past pregnancy issues (as evidenced by return of cauldrons imagery seen in past card). He is also afraid that his stoic nature will lead him towards being an emotionally distant parent, and not the kind of effusive parent that he feels a child needs. Potentially afraid of being how he saw his own father as a child.

HDF 3 - Ace of Swords

He really wants to get married. Sometimes so much so that he forgets that he has to pay attention to who his potential bride is. At times, it becomes borderline obsession and he rushes to fill in the blank with something old and comfortable - even if it doesn't fit anymore. It is his greatest dream and a barometer on his path on life. Everything he does as far as major life changes are designed to bring him closer to marriage. Perhaps he feels that he cannot achieve a great life until he is married and puts himself under a lot of pressure to achieve that goal.

Final Outcome - The World

In his life right now are several mechanisms that will lead him to his dreams. He simply has to take advantage of this immediate opportunity for change and growth. His dreams are nearby if he does this. However, if he passes up this opportunity he faces a much longer and more lonesome journey. Everything he wants is within his grasp... he just has to close his eyes, screw his courage to the sticking place, take a risk and go out and get it.
